Invitation be a Sponsor & Partner for the 11th Annual Almonte Celtfest SPONSORSHIP OPTIONS AND APPLICATION FORM Celtfest has become a great showcase of the Ottawa Valley’s amazing talent. Musicians, singers, and dancers of all ages, performing a range of styles rooted in Celtic traditions have made Celtfest an outstanding annual celebration. It has become a destination for visitors from Ottawa, Eastern Ontario, Quebec, and farther afield ! Some Celtfest facts: • Celtfest was founded 11 years ago by the descendants of Irish settlers, who emigrated to the Almonte/Corkery area in the early 1820’s, bringing their music with them. The O’Connell family and their friends originated Celtfest. • The Almonte Celtfest Society is an incorporated not for profit organization as of 2007. Celtfest’s main mission is to provide on-stage experience and exposure for performers from the Ottawa Valley. Guests performers “from away” have included Tommy Makem from Ireland, and The Elders, from the U.S. • In the first 10 years of Celtfest, several hundred performers have appeared, and the number increases each year. Some 200 performers are anticipated at Celtfest 2007. Artisans and food booths give the event a festive and colourful atmosphere. • The festival venue, Gemmill Park in downtown Almonte is one of the most excellent natural amphitheatres in Canada. 4000 visitors are expected this year. • Celtfest 2007 features a brand new Warner Main Stage cover system which will enhance the appearance, and profile of all sponsors at this year’s event. • Celtfest is partnering with the Almonte Hospital Foundation, and proceeds from the event assist in expanding this important community facility. • Celtfest is a free admission event. Sponsors and donations cover all costs. It is organized by approximately 150 volunteers. Groups such as local sports teams, Civitan Club, Royal Canadian Legion and others all contribute people and time. • Some 50 area businesses, and organizations have signed on as sponsors. This list is growing each year, as the needs and budget of the festival has grown. • For Celtfest 2007, sponsors have 9 options of sponsorship to choose from, and all offer benefits, and visibility, while providing tremendous support to the success of Celtfest.
